How Do I Get Involved?
Where Can I Serve?

Jesus told us, his disciples, to make disciples of all nations. One of the most important values of Perry Memorial United Methodist Church is our mission to the world. It begins in our own community, and spreads overseas to every nation. Perry members are involved in a variety of ministries from things as simple as washing the church dishes, to volunteering with our missionaries throughout the world.

Perry Memorial United Methodist Church is not a place for spectators. It is a place for team members. Whether you are a five-year old child, a ninety-five year old grandmother, a busy mom, or a businessman with big responsibilities, we want you to be a part of our vibrant church community. Here is how you can learn, serve, and grow at Perry.

Small Group

Often, small groups of people are better able to interact and learn about a topic than larger groups are. For that reason, Perry Memorial has small bible studies held in member’s homes. The size of the group is anywhere from six to twelve.  At a time designated by you and your group, you can choose to host a small group study in your home.

Youth Ministry

Each Sunday morning, children get to participate in the worship service with “Children’s Moments” before going off to their own classes. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn. Each of the class teachers is carefully screened and thoroughly trained in children’s instruction. On Sunday evening youth gather for our Perry’s Pride youth choir (ages 3 to 13).  The youth choir group enjoys music time, devotion time, snack time, and lots of fun activities and outings into the community.  The youth ministry of Perry Memorial is recognized for their close interaction.

United Methodist Women’s Group

United Methodist Women is the largest denominational faith organization for women with approximately 800,000  members whose mission is fostering   spiritual growth, developing um women logoleaders and advocating for justice.

Members raise up to $20 million each year for programs and projects related to women, children and youth in the United States and in more than 100 countries around the world.

Here at Perry Memorial the very active UM Women have three fund raisers     annually — the Easter Egg Sale and two Rummage/hot dog sales — to raise   money for local community mission projects, special church projects as well as the national and worldwide mission work.

The United Methodist Women (UMW) of Perry Memorial is a mission focused organization which provides opportunities for its members to grow spiritually through service to their church and their community. There is always an open invitation for all women to join this organization. Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of every month in the fellowship hall at 6:30pm.

United Methodist Men’s Group

Perry Memorial’s United Methodist Men’s group gathers to show God’s love by helping the United Methodist Women with their Easter Egg project and rummage sales. We also support the Perry Builders in providing a service team that performs minor home repairs and simple construction projects for homeowners in need in our local community. The United Methodist Men’s regular meetings occurs on the 5th Sunday of the months that have five sundays (usually 4 times per year). The meeting begins at 7:30am with breakfast prepared by several of the Men. Breakfast is followed by a short devotional lead by one of the Men, and then we finish with a brief business meeting. We try to be finished in time for the Early Church Service at 8:30am.

Being a Community

In addition to our community service and support, the Perry Memorial family hosts numerous events throughout the year which bring our membership together and welcome the community into fellowship with each other and the Lord through good food, family fun, and special studies of God’s word as it relates to our modern day life.

We hope that you will join us soon, to worship with us, to meet our church family, and learn more about how YOU can be a part of Perry Memorial United Methodist Church.

We look forward to seeing you and walking together in ministry for our community and for the world.
